Default For Sale RV-4 Mostly Built Empennage & Wing Kit

For Sale. I have RV-4 mostly built empennage kit, 3/4 built wing kit, stuff to finish these kits and the 1981 drawings. My father-in-law started until a bike accident years ago. I am in Central Florida and can send more pictures (see attachments). PM me.

Default What's a good asking price?

Drawing from the experience of the members of this site, What's a good asking price for these RV-4 kits?

Default It depends

Probably a poor data point, but I paid $8,500 for an RV-4 project in 2006. Probably a kit from the 1990's.
Only major parts missing were wheel-brake assemblies.
Oh, and two of the wing spar plates were missing. That reduced it from the asking price. I had to do some precision machining to re-make them from blanks. Of course, also ordered a number of nuts/bolts/washers/rivers/pop-rivets, spinner bulkhead and so on.

But probably better to compare to price of new emphenage and wing kit. Take into consideration workmanship and any missing pieces and hardware. Also any corrosion will be a factor.

I'd consider that a very fair price providing no major re-dos are needed (workmanship).

Others please chime in.

Default Early RV4 Trim Cable

Sir: Do you have the early .072 stainless trim cable, and is it surplus to your needs? My guess is you would have substituted the later Cablecraft cable...Thanks, John johnf_1@yahoo.com

Default RV-4 Kit

Your price is not unreasonable but there is a limited market for these old partial kits. For somebody looking for your components, I think they would be happy to pay 4K if the quality is up to standard.
