Default small Leak, Inner Tube

On my 9A for now using Vans kit included tires and tubes. After 2 weeks. the left tire is leaking at the valve. Today I pulled it cleaned the valve and reinserted now it leaks worse. Time to replace the tube. What do you guys like for tubes? Also on the tire sidewall displayed 5.00x5 is that the same as 500x5. I use 40 PSI on the 3 tires..

Might try replacing the valve (cheap test from the auto parts store). Otherwise, lots of folks seem to have good luck with the "leakguard" tubes from Desser or other suppliers.
