I maintain the records and statistics currently for SARL as a willing volunteer and thought this information should get more exposure. The Sport Air Racing League was created and the first race flown in 2007. The list here shows the best of the best in every class flown (ever expanding) over the five years of its existance. Your observation of the Sherwoods is beyond the scope of this list but a great recognition of a very special team that created a unique super fast airplane. It was a major setback when their brake failed on the way to a race and severely damaged their airplane. The were leading the experimental point standings by such a wide margin that the SARL National Championship Gold trophy was a sure thing. It was satisfying to me as well to see them hold on for the Silver (second place trophy).
