I have an alternator that was producing 13.6 volts I need 14.5 for the oddosy
I removed it from my RV-6 unplugged the wires from the alternator
Type unknown but there is a plug on the alternator
That has E F N
My regulator is a Ford F7078
Trying to figure where the wires from the regulator to the alternator
Are to be placed

I would ask this on the Matronics Aeroelectric List.

Typically in that style of alternator, the F is the Field lead and it goes to the field lead on the Reg. Those Regs are pretty standard and google should help you figure out which of the 4 terminals is the field. I always forget the E and N. One is ground and the other is stator. Neither are required if the Alt case is well grounded.

N is stator. It will show about 1/2 output voltage if you put on a voltmeter.

E is ground. It may or may not be grounded to case.

Some alternators are controlled by low-side regulators (+12v to F, regulator controls current by grounding with E)
