Can someone smart please clarify the torque value used for nutplates? Are they the same as nuts? Referencing AC 43.13, Table 7-1 do you use the torque table values for tension or shear? I can't find anything specific in there regarding nutplate torques.
I'm working on the elevator bellcrank torqueing eight AN-3 bolts into K1000-3 nutplates. I used 38 in/lb total. 23 in/lb for the bolt per AC 43.13 + 15 in/lb of friction drag for a fresh nutplate. Is this correct?
I appreciate everyone's time and the collective wisdom of the group.
Cheers,
