RV-4 Kit and engine SOLD
Hi guys,
I tried selling this nearly 2 years ago. I thought I had a buyer lined up and then never heard back. I got busy with work and had kids and it just fell by the wayside. I have a flying RV-8 and just don't need 2 of basically the same airplanes.
This is a complete RV-4 kit minus the finishing kit. Kit is from around 2001, the plans have the add for the "New RV-8!". Wings and tail are done, very nice construction and epoxy primed inside and out. The fuselage is in the jig and has most of the skins drilled and clecoed, but not riveted. I know these aren't the best pictures, I can get more in about a week when I get home. Just posting this to hopefully get in contact with someone that is serious, then I can text/email better pictures later.
The engine is a Lycoming 320 that was rebuilt with yellow tagged parts in the early 2000's. Has a govenor for a C/S Prop. Unfortunately, it was not stored in good conditions and has developed some corrosion on the outside, which means there is likely corrosion on the inside. Good news is the cylinders are chrome lined, but the engine will still need a thorough inspection before it is installed on an airplane. It has not run since it was rebuilt and has been sitting for 20 years.
$6,500 takes it all, I got a good deal on it and I'm letting it go for what I got in it. There was a thread recently about the rising costs of building and engines, I'm hoping this goes to someone really motivated that can have it as a chance to build their dream airplane for a reasonable cost. I also have a collection of old steam gauges that I could add, some I got for free and others I paid very little for and could sell them at cost. Will make a donation to VAF when it sells from this add. Send a PM with your phone number and we can chat about it.
Home airport is Imperial CA, KIPL.

ITS A BUY FOR THE AIRFRAME , look at vans price for rv4 airfraame kit, Narrow deck engine does not look good old style crank, Rust on it flange, could be pitted inside , would not pass 505 insp , Spend money on a newer eng , Wide deck, Good luck.

I知 not trying to pull a fast one on anyone, I知 being honest about the condition. Thanks for reiterating what I put in the original post.
