Painting a Dynon GPS antenna
I have a Dynon GPS antenna mounted on my glare shield. The antenna is white and the glare shield is flat black. My question is can you paint a GPS antenna or will paint mess up the signal?

I asked Dynon and they told me it was ok as long as the paint did not contain any metal. I assume they meant a metallic paint.

Old sock
Matt, I've seen an old, black sock used to stretch over the antenna.
Best,

Make a fiberglass cover
My wife copied my Tech Counselor and made a fiberglass cover for each of my two antennas on the glare shield. Covered them with clear tape real well, then put fiberglass over them. Fit snug, but can be removed. Sprayed them with black truck bed liner. No glare. If I can find pics I will post.

Non-metallic paint = no effect on GPS signal. Paint away!

I painted mine. No adverse effects noted.

traditional standards & practices...
hey, aren't we homebuilders?
...don't you have matte black electrical tape in your pocket?
( ok, for the young guys, matte carbon fibre vinyl wrap material)
