Default Auto parts alternator for RV-10

http://www.vansairforce.com/communit...7&postcount=54

I figured i would start a new thread instead of polluting Rosie's thread. I am impressed that Rosie carried a spare alternator with him. Talk about being prepared.

However, it does seem like a good idea to know if such an option exists for the -10. Does anyone know if there is an equivalent auto parts alternator that will work for us?

Thus, we can either carry around a cheap spare or know what to look for at a local auto parts store, even better. This would be a backup to the stock Plane Power alternator.

Your alternator of choice is really not plane model dependent. If being able to swap out on the road is important, that any number of ND models will work. A 14684 and a 14824 are good substitutes in the >50A range.
