Each of those is a lens with an individual LED behind it. In landing or wig-wag mode, all of them light up, in taxi mode just the middle 3 of the 9 on the right side light up.

We will have the Aerosun Vx on display at Oshkosh in a mini-RV wing so that anyone interested in it can see what a typical installation looks like, including looking at the inside of the wingtip to see the wiring and mounting features.

Hi Dean,

my wing kit will ship in about a week. What is the status on the RV-9? Do you have a mod kit available? And do I have to order some special wingtip for the RV-9, or will the standard wingtip work out just fine?

Thanks,

Wim

The RV-9 requires a wingtip modification using a fiberglass kit that we have available:

Maybe it's just me, but the aeroled... procedure.pdf link seems broken. As do many of the technical document links on the website.

Yep, lots of broken links when I was trying to install my lights over the weekend.

Also, seems to be a serious error in the instruction manual. Cut my wing tip according to the instruction, and wound up with a hole a good 1.75 inches too big. Not a happy camper right now.

I had four different people that have all built RV's double check what I did, both before and after I made the cut and they all agreed that i followed the directions.

I'm waiting for an e-mail back from Dean now, but I would strongly recommend waiting on making the cut on your RV-9 wingtips until you verify what is wrong with the instructions.

There were some updates to the website last Friday, and it appears the instruction link got broken, I will repost it when it is fixed. Regarding the RV-9, apparently the wingtip modification instructions showed a measurement that was based on the RV-10 wingtip, and there needs to be a different dimension for the RV-9. We are getting the instructions updated to correct that so that the RV-9 mod shows the correct dimension for the RV-9 wingtip...

Default engineering oops

I reviewed the directions for the 9 they posted... before the correction. It sure looked like a HUGE hole for an LED fixture. I hope not many owners made the cut, and then found out it was based on the RV-10. That will take some repair and glass work to fix... and hopefully not be ugly...

So far only one person, the rest noticed the difference on their own and made the necessary adjustment...
