Carrying handguns to the Bahamas.
Mornin' all. I just saw a post on Facebook that they allow pleasure craft have firearms aboard.
Does anyone know if aircraft passengers have the same authorizations?
Thanks,

What about clearing customs when you come back and land at an airport with a no guns policy?

Is there such a thing? TSA doesn't allow weapons on *commercial* airliners, but this is a private aircraft.
I could be wrong, but I don't think there is a "no guns policy" (policy?) regarding GA at any airport I know of.

FYI...
Some airport office buildings (my local field, for example) are posted but no restrictions on ramps, that I know of. Compare your state's reciprocity agreement for concealed carry and plan accordingly. Just my opinion, of course...

firearms are allowed on vessels sailed to the bahamas. they must be secured on the vessel while in port. they are not allowed off the boat as handguns and most guns are illegal in the bahamas. This question has been brought up before and the answer I was given was that the government would not object to it but that it is not documented on paper. I would inquire directly with the bahamas customs people for a definite answer.

at least in florida, carry on an airport is illegal.

2. Any police, sheriff, or highway patrol station;
3. Any detention facility, prison, or jail;
4. Any courthouse;
5. Any courtroom, except that nothing in this section would preclude a judge from carrying a concealed weapon or determining who will carry a concealed weapon in his or her courtroom;
6. Any polling place;
7. Any meeting of the governing body of a county, public school district, municipality, or special district;
8. Any meeting of the Legislature or a committee thereof;
9. Any school, college, or professional athletic event not related to firearms;
10. Any elementary or secondary school facility or administration building;
11. Any career center;
12. Any portion of an establishment licensed to dispense alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises, which portion of the establishment is primarily devoted to such purpose;

14. The inside of the passenger terminal and sterile area of any airport, provided that no person shall be prohibited from carrying any legal firearm into the terminal, which firearm is encased for shipment for purposes of checking such firearm as baggage to be lawfully transported on any aircraft; or

and from 790.001

P.B, I have concealed carry for Georgia and neither Florida or South Carolina reciprocate...don't think the Bahamas would either.
Best,

I wish they would pass a national CCW law and be done with it!

Guns are allowed on commercial airlines. You just have to have it in a gun case, unloaded, in your baggage, not carry-on, and tell them at the ticket counter.
