Default Flap removal

So when painting my airplane a few months ago I put off painting the checkerboard on the bottom of the wing flaps. I would like to pull them off and paint them now in a booth. Anybody had their flaps off? I didn't build it, and am not near the plane now so just want an idea of this is a terribly difficult way to go about painting them. I can wait till warmer weather and paint them onboard but would like to do it now when the weather is not so fly-friendly.
Thanks for the advice.
Patrick

There have been several methods of flap attachment on the RV-4.
1/ Hinge pin may be cut and bent at the middle of the flap allowing each 1/2 to be pulled out from there.
2/ Many people drilled a hole in the inboard aileron hinge bracket slightly out of line with the flap hinge pivot point allowing one to bend the pin slightly and pull out through the hole.
Look at each end and in the middle of the flap hinge. Shouldn't be too hard to figure out.
Of course the flap pushrod must be unfastened too. But that should be obvious.

Thanks Mel,
I'll be going to the airport tomorrow so I'll look it over then.
