Default Titan Engine questions x5

After spending too much time studying the titan website and downloads on contact page, I'm looking at the comparison page and I have several questions. 1) Says weight for 371 and 371 counterweighted engines are both at 255- no additional weight for the counterweighted engine?
2) x370 shows 3 possible HP values but only 2 different compression ratios. is 195hp version maybe 10.5:1?
3)x360 with 9.0:1 shows 191hp , r360 shows 190hp on 10.5:1. do you offer x360 with 10.5:1 and what does it produce in HP?
4) So r360 requires higher compression than x360 for same HP but is significantly less weight (34 lbs), is that accurate?
5) price increase to get 371 counterweighted over 371?
thanks

Give them a call. There are so many configurations..... I would not trust the web site info. Also, there are different ways manufacturers call out there specs, with fluids, without, etc....

The short answer is JonJay is correct, each engine has so many different configuration possibilities that its really hard to put out a simple comparison sheet for all engines. I will take a shot at your questions:

1. The 255lbs 371 is possible if you use every magnesium lightweight option we make, vertical sump, fixed pitch prop, and efii system. Most 370 and 371 engines weigh between 270-285 lbs in common configurations. Since we have not started producing 371 engine yet we do not have a final weight increase for this option. I would estimate 8-12 lbs.

2. We can actually machine pistons for different compression ratios for all our engines. Customers request different based on prop, low lead fuel, and performance. The most common 370 goes out at 9.0:1 which puts out about 195hp. If you want the highest hp the 9.6:1 puts out 204hp but has several prop limitations from Hartzell.

3. The r360 puts out 208hp @ 2750. the dynaminc compression is 8.7:1 the static is 10.5:1. I have sold several IOX-360 engines this year, at 9.0:1 this engine puts out around 195hp @ 2750 and weighs in around 275lbs

4. The R360 puts out 208 @2750 and 222 @3050. My R360 configured with Efii for my Rv8 was 255lbs. For fixed pitch 247lbs.

5. The 371 is counter-weighted and is more expensive. The only time I recommend a 371 is when a customer wants 204hp and wants to use a Hartzell prop.

The bottom line is we have many options and can always find just the right engine for your mission.

Great. I knew you would be able to answer them and I thought someone else might have the same questions. I'll give you a call to work through my specific needs, after I decide exactly what my priorities are regarding weight, HP and of course $.
