Default RV-14 build time

I'm interested to know how long is it taking to complete the various kits. A search didn't throw out any results for me.

The wing kit took me 503 hrs. The tail kit took me 271 hrs. I'm a first time builder and I primed everything. Priming adds LOTS OF TIME! I assure you others have built in less time than me. I have an additional 250 hrs in final painting. Again, I'm a first time painter. I did a checkerboard rudder that took longer to mask and spray than it took to build!

The process, especially painting, taught me alot! I could do it next time significantly faster and better.

A good site you can check (it's in the list of links of the other site mentioned). E keeps totals on the lower right of the first page, so just scroll down and see...it's very nicely done. I am also a first time builder, who is priming everything and am in the middle of the wing kit. I am estimating between 550 and 600 hours for the wings. I consider myself in the slow category by choice...I want to spread the build out over a 3 to 4 year period.
