Benefits: Interchangeability, less weight. Scott mentioned the weight was 12lbs of vinyl on his plane.
Negatives: Not sure

I like the lighter weight and the ability to easily update design details (tail/nose art, N-Numbers, etc.)

Default paint

I'm going to paint my airplane myself. Using basf rm uno. Also buying a new iwata 400. Will still be under 2500 bucks. I would rather use that extra 7500 on avionics.
Nobody can see those elaborate paint schemes from 5000 feet.

I chose wrap as a DIY for the same cost as your paint. including having the pros fill, sand and paint my cowl and spinner. So we both saved the pro labor cost...I spent my savings on purchasing a hanger, and then some...

What is the price range? I hope $10k is on the fanciest, "custom" end?

I never mentioned $10,000... The entire week or on a single aircraft.

I did say, "you probably couldn't break $10,000"

Just clearing up what I've said. Thanks to everyone for a wonderful and supportive week at osh.

Self correction:

Certified and pressurized aircraft were quoted over $10,000, not RV related.

I would love to know about how much that Reno racer job cost. It was very nice.
