Default Silly question.

Hi Guys, new to the forum. Started a 7 HS. Just started dimpling the skins and have a question on the understucture. Are the same dimple sizes used on that also. Im thinking yes. Im talking about the ribs etc.

Hi Mick,

Yes the same dies are used for the understructure as for the skins. Some people use what they call 'tank' dimple dies for the understructure, as they give a slightly deeper dimple which may allow for a nicer skin finish, but to be honest I've done it both ways and I can't tell the difference!

Cheers,

hugh

No need to pre drill the hole before dimpling just dimple and rivet

Not too sure about that. Might want to check with the factory. You're setting up stress risers by not pre drilling.
