Congratulations!! Wonderful write-up and thank you for your work as a flight adviser. This terrific first flight post is also a great example of you wearing your flight adviser hat as well. Great report and congratulations again on an amazing accomplishment and beautiful plane.

Big time congrats my friend. As we have been dreaming about for 15+ years! I can't wait for a KOSH flight together. I'll bring a 4 ship from Venice and we can get Gary G. and John to join us.
Hey, you didn't pour all that bubbly I got you on Odyssey did you?
A note to all: Gary and I both started our -6 build around the same time. We have been friends for a long time (2 of the founding fathers of EAA Chapter 1252) and he helped me unload my -6 kit when it was shipped in 1998.

Brilliant write up, just put me next to you in the seat.
Only comment I have is that you mixed up CHT with EGT I guess in the article.
Enjoy the testflight program
Michael

Fantastic!
Great write up, and a good lesson that even with 20k+ hours and extensive planning, there is always something to learn... some way to be more prepared.
Your 6 is beautiful. Congratulations.

Folks, not only is Gary a great first flight reporter (seriously, as Doug said on the front page, one of the best I have ever read!), he is also a member of the EAA Homebuilt Aircraft Council. I had the pleasure of "hiring" Gary to the team during my time at EAA, and his dedication to EAA and the safety of what we do is unmatched.
His work on the Flight Adviser program, both as a volunteer and for the HAC, helped get the program to where it is today. I just want everyone to know that there is a team working hard on EAB issues, and I am proud to have been a part of bringing that team together. They do some really fantastic work!
Gary, a big congrats on your first flight, and I felt I was right there with you reading your account of the weekend activities. Very well done sir! See you in Oshkosh...

You know the best part... (well, not the best)
After all those thousands in the 737... with your feet flat on the floor....
You flew your creation and kept the nose straight. Nice job !!!!!

Congratulations!
Gary,
That was a great First Flight report. The explanation of details and fellowship even put an "RV grin" on my face!
