Default Wing Spar Length

Can someone please clarify exactly how long the wing spar is?

I belive it is approx 115inch plus maybe another foot for the section which enters the fuse.

Why does the wing spar crate have a total length of 186 inch?

Is there anything packed into the ends of the box, for example polystyrene, for extra protection?

Are the wing spars simply laid ontop of each (and bound together) or are they individually wrapped for transport?

Thanks in advance to those who have answers for me. Cheers!

Default Wing Spar Box

From memory...and it was near on 9 years ago....the fuselage longerons are shipped in the same box. This would require the additional length I am supposing :-)

114 5/16" long
5 1/4" goes into the fuse
Fuselage longerons are shipped with it.

I pick up my parts at the Factory since I'm local but from the pictures I've seen they are well packed.

Default longerons

There are some pics of my crates coming off the U-haul. I didn't trust the shipper to bring them so I picked them up from the shipping dock.
The longerons are in one of the photos.

Vans packs everything very well, as decribed longerons are in same crate.
