Default Step Seal

Step 9: Seal the opening (see Figure 5) in the
WD-1233-L Step with fuel tank sealant.

How much sealant does it take to seal both steps

Default step sealant

Hi jsenft, I just did that little job last weekend. I marked & cut to shape a couple of small pieces of corflute, ( the corrugated plastic stuff signwriters use), and carefully pushed them with a screwdriver into the tops of the holes in the step legs, leaving about 1/8 inch for the sealant. A bit of masking tape around the edge in case you get some on the outside & away you go; you don't need much, I think it is just to stop water going down inside there & causing long term rust... Cheers, DEAN... PS make sure the metal is clean & not greasy so the sealant will stick permanently..

Default Sealing Steps

Any reason why you could not braze in a couple of small metal closers?

Pro seal sucks! Use silicone.
