Default F-779 Tail Bottom Skin

Hello Folks,

Getting ready to dimple rear fuselage parts. I assume F-779 gets countersunk? Seems too thick to dimple.

Thanks,

Tom

Vans lists the 779 as .025 thick. I dimpled mine no problem.

It's actually .040. I dimpled it with out any trouble. Hardest time I had with that piece was getting it bent enough to fit the ribs.

Yep it's .040. I remember it being a tough piece to work with because it was so thick. That was years ago. I really doubted the ".025" mentioned in the Parts List in the manual. So I measured it with calipers when I got to my hangar. It is indeed .040. Perhaps Vans has corrected that in recent manual updates. My preview manual is from 2003. That piece can be countersunk, but it dimpled nicely.
