Once I get the hours flown off any of you are welcome to come by and fly it. The Kitfoxes are a wonderful complement to our RV's. And no, I don't get anything for saying that.

I am probably not the only one that wishes you had a web site that we could go to to see a bunch of pictures of all your builds. Very nice Kitfox. I see one of them in my future. In fact, I am going to the factory tomorrow to "just look around"!!

Early stats...
Engine is a Rotax 912ULS, 100HP, with a Warp Drive propeller. After an hour or so of flight testing, it appears to be about 116-120 MPH TAS airplane at 2500' and 50 degrees OAT, 5300-5400 engine rpm's and 4.7gph and 23.6" MAP. Can't believe how cold it is here in Georgia in May! Power off stalls are 48 mph IAS full flaps, 52 mph for 1 notch, and 54 clean. It flies hands off in all flight regimes so far except final with full flaps requires some back stick pressure.

Off subject, Vic, but was there a problem or concern in keeping your airpark open recently?
Thanks,

Wow. Not that I am aware of. We just had our Spring Fly in this week end. Can't imagine where that rumor is coming from. We aren't surrounded by any potential problem areas that I am aware of.

One of my neighbors makes accessories for the Kitfox, it is fun to poke around in his hangar and see what his is cooking up at any given moment.

His new plane has rudder trim, that is totally hidden inside the rudder. Uses a cam setup to bulge out one side of the fabric or the other, changes the airfoil shape. Interesting "out of the box" thinking.

Big Day
Well, I am very pleased to tell everyone that my youngest son soloed the Kitfox last evening. On Father's Day he gave me a framed copy of his Sport Pilot Written test (passed!), so he is on his way for sure.
It was actually kind of neat to see the airplane fly and to hear and see everything working (radios, wigwag, etc.). And I don't think I could have improved upon the 4 landings he did!
