Smokey,
Great video! One question....
A few of the scenes in the video show the smoke trails of the formation with some back-light. Some of the aircraft have what looks like more of a pulsed smoke trail while others have a solid plume.
Whats the difference in the physical installs that creates this effect?

Brian, the smoke trails are more even with two smoke injectors. The guys with only one injector get the pulsing smoke because you get a puff every 4th exhaust hit. With two injectors you get a puff every other stroke of the engine. We've found that you use no more oil with two injectors and it looks better.

Have you got lights pointing backwards into the smoke plume at your tails? Or sparklers of some kind? That's a neat effect too...

Over this past weekend I had the extreme pleasure of working with Team AeroDynamix and all of the other teams at our ShrinersFest airshow. They are such a class act and they truly set the standard for all airshow teams to strive for.
We have a couple terabytes of HD video from the four days so stay tuned as they say, there is more to come.
If you haven't seen Team AeroDynamix fly their day and night routine, and you are an RV person, what are you waiting for?

Each aircraft has a rear-facing Whelen 4" landing light on the belly that is illuminated when the smoke is "on".
We also have Whelen LED lights mounted on each wingtip to illuminate the vertical stabilizer so we can see each other better in close formation and to identify each other during rejoins. Some aircraft also have reflective tape strategically placed to help wingmen maintain position.
Some strobe lights are partially taped over but we really don't find the strobes to be a big distraction. Night formation is really quite nice because it's cooler and the air is smoother than the typical Saturday afternoon airshow in the deep south! With the lighting we have, visibility is not a problem.
