Default Proper prop extension

Have I remembered correctly that the newer cowls for the 4 require a shorter extension, and if so what size? If they do I have a 4" to trade or to sell.

The new vans rv-4 cowling uses a 2.5 inch spacer. I put a 4 inch spacer on the -4 i am currently building but i used a Sam James cowling. The spacer is only required for a fixed pitch prop. Hope that helps.

I need a 4 inch extension for my other plane. Can you post some pics of yours? I need the 7/16 to 7/16 4-inch prop extension. Thanks

Default Prop ext.

I'll try. I know there's already been a delay in this reply. My computer died recently and I'm borrowing time right now, so please be patient with me.Will see what I can do.

Default What you need

What you need is a 2 1/4" prop extension. They are $290 from Van's. I'll bet some folks on this site have a spare lying around. I believe the lugs are interchangeable, so you could convert a 7/16 to a 3/8. YMMV

To the OP,
I'm making the assumption your extension was for a wood prop, if so what is the diameter of the extension at the prop end?
Thanks.
