Anyone had an engine painted white?
I'm working with Penn Yann on doing one up now- just curious if anyone had done this before and if so, if you had pictures!
Looking at different contrasting themes too, such as polished fins, black fins, white case with black cylinders/white fins, etc.

Yep. That's how our engine (O-360 A1A from Lycon) looks like. We have no practical experience, as engine is not running on our RV yet.

Painting an engine a light color makes it a lot easier to work on as the light reflection makes it easier to see what you are doing. My friend with the AG business had the cases of his R-1340s painted bright yellow and it made working on the accessory section a lot easier. Also made tracking down oil leaks easy. Don

Remember Victor's pitch that his black engines would "suck" the heat out. Hah!

That's usually from the chrome valve covers, not the engine paint color, although red has sometimes been noted for being faster.
