Default slider canopy latch preventer

Several times I have inadvertently attempted to close and latch my sliding canopy with outside handle orientated 180 degrees from proper position resulting in pointy end of handle dinging fibreglass flange on windscreen roll-over tube. Ouch! Any ideas on a "preventer"?

Shorten it, it does not need to be that long anyway. Also you can bevel the bottom side.

Default Taper the bottom

I had the same problem. Just tapered the bottom enough to always clear the front fairing. I did not have to shorten the handle at all.

I had the same problem. Here is a thread on vans where I showed my solution.
