Exclamation Is this Wing Spar Damage??

Hello! I just started my wings tonight. My first step is to open the spars and check for damage. Well I was hoping the great knowledge here could help me. On both spars I have a discoloration around main factory rivets. Is this corrosion? There is no elevation or bubbling on the surface. Thanks for the help.

You are looking at the off color areas around the rivets? From that angle my guess is the assembler had to remove those rivets, for some reason, and reset them. Looks like they just cleaned the area around the holes and re-alodined.

Absolutely not damage. Very common. It's where they buffed the spar for deburing then the anodizing looks different. I doubt this has to do with having to remove rivets. Many if not all spars have this.

Have fun building your wings !

I have the same on mine. It also shows what looks like little cracks in the coating. I'm not worrying about it. The cracks are caused by setting the rivet and I guess the color change goes with it.
