Default Elevator Trim Cables - anchor brackets

I have the elevator trim bellcrank installed and I have the cables routed back to the elevators. I was able to thread the E-616PP Cover Plate onto the CT Q-43 cable that is running back to the left elevator. However, there is not enough slack to thread the coverplate onto the cable running through the right elevator.

Common sense tells me to just loosen the cable at the bellcrank. But, it does not mention anything about having to do this in the plans. I want to be sure I am not making a mistake somewhere. I'm pretty sure both of the cables were the same length.

I found it almost impossible to install the units with the cover in place.

I used screws to attach the bracket to the cover after installation.

There is a bit of discussion in this thread.

Would detaching the bellcrank assembly from the aft deck and moving it aft, give enough slack to attach? This is still NOT the order outlined in the plans but seems easy enough if it would work... Only needs about 2 inches to be the same as the left one which attaches fairly easily....
