Third vote for the Scheyden flip-ups. Fantastic for descending from bright sunshine into an overcast on an IAP, or looking at a chart or Ipad in the cockpit when your sunglasses are a bit too dark. Got mine several years ago when still flying for a paycheck. I dropped them on the ramp during a Pilots n' Paws doggie transfer at KMAI last year and broke the frame. I called Scheyden, told them what had happened, and got instructions to send them back for repair. I got a call letting me know that they were ready to ship them back, and "Oh, by the way, we decided that we would cover this under warranty". Those glasses were more than five or six years old at that point! Mine are progressive bi-focals and they work great. I am a confirmed Scheyden customer.
I also use www.zennioptical.com for my other glasses. Quality has been excellent, and the price is fantastic.
Interestingly, I first found out about zennioptical on this forum a few years ago, and maybe even found out about Scheyden here.

We carry Vedalo HD sunglasses which are the lightest, most flexible, most comfortable anywhere... IMHO.
They are available in prescription now. Email me directly at vincefrazier@gmail.com if you're interested.
Please don't PM as I just can't keep up with checking them often enough.

Sometimes glare is a good thing...
Aside from messing up your view of an EFIS, polarized lenses also reduce reflection. That's a good thing for fly fishermen who need to be able to see through the glare of the water surface into the water itself. The problem for pilots is that polarization also diminished the reflection of sun off of other airplanes, making them harder to see because there's no shiny glare to give them away. This lesson was part of my PPL knowledge course if I remember correctly.
Maybe your optician can give you polarized glasses that don't do this. You'd have to check.

I switched to contacts
I known not everyone can wear contacts, but I use multifocal contacts instead of bifocals:
http://www.bausch.com/en/Our-Product...Contact-Lenses
A few years ago, after haveing perfect vision for almost 50 years, I needed correction for both distant and near vision. I paid almost $500 for the latest and greatest progressive glasses and wore them for a month and really didn't like them, so switched to bifocals with some clip on sunglasses for a year. I adapted but decided to try contacts.
Previously, the only way to get both distant and close up vision with contacts was monovision but the FAA will not approve these. The multifocal give you close and distant in both eyes, they seemed somewhat magical to me, everything is in focus no matter what direction that I look and the FAA approves of their use.
For sunglasses, I use these:

They seem to be very high quality and flip up to allow you to look down at a map and they are around $100

I agree. I bought my Aviator glasses when my daughter was born. She is now 22 and they are still going strong!

I agree with Dave B., Hidalgo has been a good source for my sunglasses with "reader" lens since I've had surgery. Prior to that, I wore prescription glasses (also sun glasses) with progressive lens for 15 years with no issues. Night and day.
Jim Hidalgo has owned and/or flown both T-18's and RV-4's, perhaps more. Knows where you are coming from.

Zenni prescription glasses?
I too get my glasses from Zenni but have never been able to find where they sell prescription sunglasses, only that clip on junk.
Has anyone bought prescription sunglasses from Zenni? Got a model number or a link to them?

Zenni does sell prescription sunglasses. I've ordered them a couple of times. I don't remember exactly, but I think most of the glasses they sell are available as sunglasses. I think you just select the tint you want as one of the choices when you are ordering your glasses.
P.S. I just went to the Zenni site and looked. You have a choice of Lens Tint when ordering your glasses and that is where you make them sunglasses or not. They have a nice description of the differences in tints when you click on the ?
