Default RV-12 pitch servo

Just nearing completion on RV-12 empennage kit, including Imron paint. Only snag is crimping the tiny micro points on the 5 fine wires of the pitch servo. Need help or suggestion(s).

Thanks,

Jim

Default Molex Crimper

I recently completed the micro pin crimp utilizing this crimper set from Mouser Electronics www.mouser.com Part number 538-MXWM-72 . This has a nice crimper that can handle the micro pins and sockets plus it has 100 pins, 100 sockets and multiple male/female connectors in various capacities for quick disconnect installations. This kit comes with 0.062" diameter pins and there is a similar kit with 0.092" pins. It is reasonably priced and it is a few dollars more than a stand alone crimper but you will find other uses for it once you have finished the aircraft.

Regards,

DWB

Hi Jim... Here are pictures of two crimpers.

The red handled crimper is from Sargent and is available from SteinAir.

The yellow handled crimper is from GC/Waldom and is available from Avery Tools.

I have more info here at the bottom of the page.

Hope that helps,
Jeff

Go HERE for all the info about how to properly crimp and use the right tool:
http://aeroelectric.com/articles/matenlok/matenlok.html

Depending on when you got your kit, the "RV-12 Manual " downloadable now on Van's website (the first several pages of the plans - Sections 1 through 5 - that cover things like crimping wires) now INCLUDES this info from this site.

You can download the manual here:
