ECI Taper fin cylinders
Has anyone had any experience with the ECI line of experimental cylinders? I had some ring seating problems and was wondering if I was the only one?

Ring seating problems have to do with the hone crosshatch and surface roughness numbers (Ra, Rk, Pk etc.). Has nothing to do with the fins on the barrels.

No problems with the RV-8 in my avatar. The compression rings seated well within the first couple hours and oil consumption stabilized after about 50.

No problem with my ECi O-360 with the tapered cylinders.
