Default Quote from the past

How to put a quote if post is several years old? There are gems of knowledge and excellent explanations from posters who are not longer active. How to quote them in today's thread?

Copy the words of wisdom. Then click the quote icon above the reply typing area. It looks like a comic book word box. It gives you the quote code stuff.
Quote:
then paste the words in.
I think that is what you were wondering.

I love quoting myself

If you just go into the original thread and click on the big blue button in the lower right corner that says 'Quote', it will automatically reference the original poster and provide space for you to type your new comments.

br,
dr

PS: like I did in this one!

You can make the quote say pretty much anything, including the "author", as Casey showed...

Default A quick cheat sheet for inserting multiple quotes

Hope this helps

One of the reasons I like using it this way is that I can choose what text I want to be quoted (maybe there's no need to include the whole paragraph, just the relevant sentence or two). This method makes it pretty easy (for me). And yeah, I noticed a couple of typos in that paragraph image above <g>. Live by the sword, die by the sword...
