Default Skybolt VLoc System

Does anyone have an idea of the weight penalty in using the Skybolt VLoc Fastening system?

Per fastener or for a complete firewall or for the entire cowling system?

I am looking for the weight increase over the standard Vans piano hinge system.

Thanks

For the RV9, the weight for all the flanges, receptacles, and fasteners is 2.626 lbs for the complete RV679J kit. That works out to be .0505 lbs per set including the flange (52 sets). For the firewall, the weight is 1.616 (32 sets). I don't have the weight for the hinge, but let's assume, for the complete kit, you are adding 1 lb for the Skybolt VLoc (CLoc) system.

I hope you can work around the additional one pound as I know you will not regret using the Skybolt VLoc flange fastening system.

Regards, Ned Bowers

Thanks Ned,

The number 2.626 lbs per 52 sets is what I wanted.

I should have asked the $/lb number.

I am a couple of months out still.

Thanks again.
