Default What type of grease is best for Nose Wheel Fork?

Hello Everyone with an A model,

Just wanted to get some feedback on the various grease builders are using in their nose wheel forks. Is everyone using basically the same grease (Mobil 1 red synthetic is what comes in the Cleveland main wheel bearings kit ) that they used in the wheel bearings to ensure that freezing is not an issue?

Thanks,
Paul

I've been using Aeroshell 5 for both the fork and bearings.

The Grummans with a near identical nose gear swivel system call out a Mil Spec. which is met by Aeroshell Grease 22 or Mobil Grease 28 - easy to obtain.

It's call out is different from the wheel bearing grease.

With a temp. range of -85 F to +400 F freezing should not be a problem...

Patrick do you know if the grease has a shelf life? I bought a tube 5 years ago.

Doesn't Cleveland call out "Mobil Aviation Grease SHC 100" for their wheel bearings?

I think this is a different grease (and much more expensive) than the Mobil 1 stuff.
