Just an update on AirPlan. I have located a source of navigation data and plan on making database updates available soon. I will have to charge a small amount per update ($10) to cover the expense of buying the data and hosting the Razor's Edge website, but considering that the software is now freeware that is a pretty good deal.

I will post another message on here as soon as I have the database update available.

I don't seem to be able to run Airplan (prior paid subscriber) on Vista 64, even as Administrator.

But that's OK as I think I'll revert to 32 bit.

Updated Airspace, Airport, Airway, VOR, NDB, Ostacle, and Waypoint database files are now available for AirPlan that are from the current update cycle. I plan on making database updates available from now on since I have found sources for all of the U.S. data now.

If I get enough support, I will also start making Sectional and WAC charts available for AirPlan.

If you have Vista or Windows 7, I recommend that you run AirPlan in Windows 95 emulation mode (set the properties for AirPlan.exe) as Administrator. Otherwise, it may have trouble running.

Yes, only the USA, the data comes from the FAA. AirPlan used to cover the entire earth, but then the U.S. NIMA agency removed the DAFIF from public access. It was a good thing while it lasted. At least we still have U.S. data sources that aren't from Jeppesen.
