Default To RV-7/7A Builders

Good Day Folks,

Finally received my RV7A empennage kit today. After going through the preview plans I wondered who other builders had turned to for help, cause I know I'm going to need help!

Who has the better online builders log that other 7/7A builders can look at for help/assistance? I've seen a couple already but was wondering who has the more detailed log out there.

Thanks

Cheers

Chris

I have 40 or so "bookmarked" 7 and 7a sites and frequent six sites regularly.
I'm dating myself but Dan C's site was mecca for some early builders.
Circa 2006 Haha early builder

Default Another blog for the list

I have learned a lot from the well photographed and documented blog by Ron Duren
http://ronsrv7project.blogspot.com/

Also, I know, for me anyway, I saved time and money by getting instruction from Wally Anderson at synergy air at his builders courses.

As you can see from the response. Your at the right spot.
The fellows here on this site are absolutely the best of the best. Their are a lot of very smart folks here on this site who will bend over backwards to help you all the way. If you get stuck... type up your problem and with in a day you'll have an answer...

My hat is off the all the folks here on this site. I have used them, picked their brains and am very grateful for their advice.

Default Chad Jensen

One of my favorite go to sites is Chad Jensen's log.

Hi Chris,
I hope to be finished with my emp soon, so here are the sites I've used and found quite helpful.

http://n999za.wordpress.com/ Andrew has been a bit quite recently, probably work. His site is fun to read and he keeps good, detailed information about his steps.

http://www.jasonbeaver.com/rv7/ Jason's craftsmanship is very good, and he captures good detail about his steps.

http://www.rvplane.com/ Though he is now finished and flying, Mike's site is also well done and has great info on it.

My site is linked below, but I don't believe I am nearly as detailed a chronicler as the guys I've listed above.

Vans support should be your definitive stop for answers. VAF is great for many things, but when it comes down to "is this safe", "should I re-do this", "is this part defective" questions that are going to require a bit of subjective analysis, seek help from support@vansaircraft.com. They are usually very prompt and likely you're not the first to ask it....I probably already did a few weeks ago.

Happy building!

Chris,

Many builder sites out there, have a look and find some you like.

http://www.vansairforce.net/links.htm
http://vansaircraft.com/public/wwwlinks.htm

A Google of “RV-7A Builder Sites” will list some too.

Don’t overlook the EAA Tips for Homebuilders, great tips on building.
http://www.eaavideo.org/channel.aspx?ch=ch_hints

You might try a How To DVD from GBI…
http://www.fly-gbi.com/www.fly-gbi.com/RV7_Videos.html

And the good folks at Van's Tech Support will answer an e-mail or phone call to help you as well.

Good luck there,
Paul
