Craig Air Center in Jacksonville, Fl.
How RV friendly are they? We will be there next Wednesday for Family Day at NAS Mayport on Thursday.
Thanks,

I've been in there two or three times in the past 2 1/2 years (once on a PilotsnPaws flight) and they were good. Self serve fuel is available at a better price than their truck price IIRC. Friendly staff.

Im based at Craig. The Air Center folks will take care of you. What does your son/daughter do at NAS, Mayport? I spent about 15 years (off and on) of my Navy career at Mayport.

I was homeported 2 1/2 years at Mayport on the Saratoga back in the late 70's. I've been curious how the base looks today. Never seem to get into the JAX area while in Florida.

Pierre, I can't speak to the quality of service at Craig Air Center, but I have used Sky Harbor in the past and will use them again. It was really windy last time I was up there, and they let me tuck my little -4 in their hangar over night for $20 with a top-off (9 gallons). I am actually headed to CRG tomorrow (Supercross race is in town Sat night - go Bubba!) for the weekend, and just called both FBOs.
Craig Air Center is $18/night tie-down. First night tie-down waived with a full-service top off ($6.42 for full service.)
Sky Harbor is $20/night tie-down; they also waive the first night tie-down with 20 gallons or a top-off AND it doesn't matter if you use their self-serve ($5.12) or full-service ($6.59).
Probably can't go wrong with either. Have a good trip!

...is a fire control specialist. On family day, they take family members out on a short cruise aboard the destroyer....10-15 miles and give a tour of the ship. Since I'm ex-Army and love ships, subs and so on....I'm looking foward to it.
Best,

Been there 2x
They were very helpful and friendly, but on my first visit dispite instructions about towing and the wheel pant, they damaged it. They did make it right, but it was frustrating to have to rebuild the nose wheel pant.
When you go in, remind them of the one they damaged on N204GS and they will be extra careful and let you park the plane. That is what they did the second time I went there.

Pierre--------Can my Wife and I be family for a day?????? Would love to get a ride!
My wife and I stay at the Navy Lodge on Mayport when we're in the Jax. area. 70 bucks a nite and you're right on the beach.

Pierre, hope you have a great day out on the briny blue. No doubt you'll see a fair bit of SH-60B traffic overhead while you're on base. Wave hello, that may be my son... <g>
