Default SkyView GPS antenna location

I am planning my skyview gps antenna location, the installation manual prefers an outside installation but also approves an internal installation. I would like a survey of builders and perhaps a report of an internal installation performace that is already flying?
Thanks
Greg.

I have my 496 antenna velcroed to the top of the glair shield on my tip-up and it works great. The Skyview antenna will go right next to it and I don't expect any problems.

Other locations I have seen is on a mount in the engine compartment, under the cowl or stuck on the outside skin, behind the canopy, or on a bracket next to the tip-up rollbar support.

Default Skyview antenna

Mine is on a shelf in front of the firewall, under the fiberglass cowl. Works great.
