Nellis Open House and Airshow video from within the formation
Hello All,
Here are the air to air videos I shot last weekend while performing in the Aviation Nation Airshow 2010 at Nellis Air Force Base Open House. Myself and 21 other experimental Van's RV series aircraft took part in the airshow and demonstrated what civilian formation pilots can do.
The videos were filmed from my wingman's aircraft, with the camera pointed at my all white airplane (can someone with some artistic talent please help a brotha come up with a paint scheme?) All videos are HD and look great full screen.
Perfect Formation take off technique as demonstrated by Dave Richardson

The bulk of Saturday's formation flight, in real time, from first roll in to last pitch out. Saturday was bumpier than both Friday and Sunday's flights, so you'll see some movement within the formation.

Taxi into a hangar lately?

Friday's performance...I fly a better show on Friday, but the camera angle on Saturday is nicer.

My picasa album is http://picasaweb.google.com/tconerv8/Nellis2010#
and has some great stills...some of them are even mine.

It was great to see the formation flight. Impressive. Only complaint is that all of you guys were behind the barriers so I couldn't see your birds close up.
Maybe next time
Cheers

Nellis Airshow Pics
I'll add my Picasa album, oriented toward Falcon Flight participation. Falcon Flight flew out from Texas to join the West Cost Ravens under Dula's leadership and organization. We joined in the 22-ship for the 1st flyover, then Falcon Flight dropped out and did our maneuvering routine under while the 16-ship flew a racetrack pattern overhead.

West Coast Ravens/Falcon Flight Nellis AFB-Aviation Nation video on YouTube
I have just finished and uploaded the final edition of the West Coast Ravens/Falcon Flight Nellis AFB-Aviation Nation video to YouTube for your viewing. The video was shot using my GoPro HD camera from the vantage point of Dula's right wing looking aft, my left wing looking aft, and the top of my vertical stab looking forward over the course of the weekend. Still pics by Dulette, Jawbone, and myself. Managed to work the comm that Condor recorded, music, graphics into it all and to make it look like a single flight with multiple cameras. Look for the formation shadows travelling over the ground...
For best viewing results and for those of you with a high speed internet connections, change the video resolution to '1080p' at the lower right side of the progress bar. This will give you the 'HD (High Definition)' version of the video. Next click the 'Full Screen' icon next to that. (The 4 arrows pointing away from each other).
Give it a watch and enjoy!

I noticed that too-----my favorite was the formation shot, with the smoke on.

Nice work! The camera angles, the music, all of it. It's AWESOME footage!
My airplane wants to join your airplanes when she grows up.
