Default RV aerobatic instructors?

I wanted to get some feedback on any instructors that give aerobatic instruction in RV's. I've had some training in a Super Decathlon and will continue to do that however I'm planning to purchase an RV (still narrowing down between the 7 and 8) and would like to get instruction in an RV. If someone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Give Kent Gorton in Mallard's Landing, GA a ring. I don't have his number, but someone here will. Kent makes it look easy and you will have a blast flying with in his RV-6 or Extra...take your pick.

Steve Johnson in Nashville, though instruction would need to be in your RV. Despite the name of his site, he's a talented competition pilot and instructor and writes for 'Sport Aerobatics' from time to time.

Kent gave me a checkout in his 6 before the first flight in my 8 . You won't be disappointed if you fly with him . One of the best instructors I have flown with.

Best,
Thanks for the feedback. I've sent an email to Kent. Will try phone if I don't hear anything back but that can be tricky since I'm stuck in Libya at the moment...but only for 3 more weeks.

I see Kent has an RV6. Given their aerobatic gross weight you can't really do dual aerobatics in them can you? Also keeping in mind that I'm 6'2" and 230 so I put a good size dent in useful load

Kent will do the instruction in the Extra 300. You can't break those very easily. The Extra flies very similar to the RV with the exception of the thrust-to-weight ratio. His RV doesn't have inverted systems so teaching in it is not a good way to learn.

Thanks for the info. Sid.

Anyone know the rough cost of setting up an RV with inverted fuel and oil? I've seen a bit on the Raven and that looks like a reasonably economical way to get started.
