Default Fluting Video

I ran across this fluting video on YouTube.
Seems like a standard way to flute ribs & it has really helped my understand the process.....

Wow, that's making something simple about as complicated as possible. Don't think I'd recommend using the shop pliers with the gripping jaws untaped. In fact I wouldn't use the pliers he was using even if the jaws were taped. A pair of electrical pliers, the one without serrations would be better or how about a pair of "duck bill" pliers. Taped, of course.

His process is not bad, and the instructional style is pretty good...but shop pliers? Nuh uh...seaming pliers work well to flatten a flute. Regular pliers would mark the metal (something no machinist wants to do).

Fluting is really pretty easy, but a few ribs can be a pain in the butt...the fuel tank end ribs (no lightening holes) seemed to be the biggest hassle.

Can't fault him for anything else, though...I like people who take the time make these instructional videos to help others out. And I like nice, repeatable processes that get good results.
