Question Prop Blades

My Sensenich prop was delivered last week. I'm an aero engineer and the bent-forward prop blades are MUCH different than what I was taught 55 years ago. All the props I've seen are in a plane or have tips that bend back-- something I understand. Can anyone explain why these blades actually bend forward creating a prop cone rather than a prop disk?

Does the hollow carbon-fiber issue come into play?
