Default Has anyone ever broken a cam follower?

My IO-360, 180 hp was leaking from a push rod tube seal (at the c/l of the engine). Thought it may have been the ECi clip problem as it was broken. Upon deeper investigation it was actually a clean break on the lifter itself. The break is 1-3/4 inches from the push rod end. The Mattituck engine has 145 hrs and was running great. I even missed the cylinder recall! The engine was running without any fanfare when I landed the other day, not sure it would have doing so much longer tho.

Any ideas? I have not discussed this with Mattituck since Mahlon is out until Monday.

Thanks,
David
The correct description for the part that failed is "cam follower". Thanks Rad.

Default New spot

Never seen one break in the barrel. Seen many break off a piece of mushroom (foreign object under head).
