Default Hole in fuselage

I was wondering what other builders did to close the hole in the lower fuselage skin. Mine is a -1 kit and it came with the cutout for the step and I'm building an 8.

Default Patch

The hole is covered by the flap fairing; it's not a structural issue.

I didn't want the potential extra airflow in the winter so I cut an egg-shaped aluminum patch (same thickness as the skin) to cover the hole, curved it using a rolling machine to match the curvature of the fuselage and applied it on the inside of the fuselage.

You don't have to do anything, the flap fairing will cover it up.

Default Hole in fuselage

I was thinking the same about the patch.. I didn't see anything in the plans either. So I guess I will see about a patch when the time comes. Thanks for the feed back.
