Default Another Bolt Torque question

I have been reading the torque tables for my tightening my wing spar bolts. I just want to run this by the group and see if I am getting this correct.

Are the AN bolts fine or coarse thread? I have been using fine values shear nuts.
I understand that a half inch bolt 290-410 inch lbs. Converted to foot lbs 410would be 60?

Thanks
Bryan

Default NOOO!

410/12 = 34.1 ftlbs

I think the wing bolts are AN7's this 7/16ths.

Unless a different torque is specced. Its difficult to get an accurate torque on the threads anyway because on the A mosel at least you have to torque from the bolt end and there is a lot of resiual torque on the bolt shaft.

i would measure what it takes to turn the bolt in the hole then add that torque to the desired thread torque.

For all practical Airframe purposes Frank gets 100%

But, for some engine purposes.....
The AN73A,74A,75A, & 76A Bolts are all course threaded drilled 6 way engine bolts. They are now numbered MS20074 Series, but Vans still likes to call out older numbers on almost all their drawings. It all depends on what your used to.
Just a tidbit of Hdwr. trivia.
