I ran into the same problem with my LS PIII ignition/auto plugs. This is what I did---others may have better solutions.
I cut the original washer off the auto plug (they don't seem to want to come off easily after they have been crushed) using angle wire cutters, measured the thickness and diameter of the washer, and went to my local NAPA auto parts and bought a supply of copper washers of the same dimensions. I now reuse the washers after the heating/quench and plug cleaning process.
