Exclamation Gettin' Out!

I've never evacuated for a hurricane in the 28 years I've lived (very) near the water south of Houston, but then again, I have always been an a Fire/Rescue officer, so I was staying for duty. I've ridden out a lot of storms, and until this morning, we were planning on riding out the storm here at our new place in friendswood - but that was when they were calling for 50 knot wind maximums. now we are looking at 95+ knots at our site, plus we have a mandatory evacuation order in place, so since I don't have any official duty to stay, Louise, me, the two airplanes, and Karst the Wonder Dog are headed north! We'll drop Karst off at the condo in College Station, then fly the planes up to hangar space at 52F, thanks to the kindness of all the guys up there! We'll then drive back down to ride the storm out at A&M.

I'm pretty sure that everything will be OK at our place, and the hangar is pretty strong, but since they told us to get out....the air route sure is better than getting stuck in traffic on the ground! I flew up to CLL this morning to get Louise and bring her home, and already, the traffic on the freeways was getting thick.

Everyone be safe!

Paul

Holler if you need anything up in Dallas. My hangar is occupied right now, but there might be extra space.

We got 'em covered TODR...got two hangared spots for Val and Mikey and they are using my Miata to get back to College Station. Worked out the details earlier and glad to help!

Make sure you stop in and have a beer at the Dixie Chicken while at A&M!

Default Update: Valkyrie and Mikey safe in the roost

Paul and Louise arrived safe up in Dallas and their planes are now under a safe roof. They should almost be back in the car they drove off in as I type this....

Good times.
