Default RV-10 Cowl Hinge Pins

I'm working on the cowl hinges now and wonder what others have done while fitting the aft top hinge for drilling? I can't get the 1/8 aluminum pins in without buckling them- a real bear. Did others just fit the 3/32 steel pins while drilling or will you get better alignment with the 1/8 ones?

Default Aft top hinge pins

Hi Ross,

Mine were a bear also. I ended up cutting the left and right sides in half, so I had 4 separate shorter pins that were a little easier to manage. The 3/32 steel pins fit MUCH better.

cheers,
Ron
