Per a request from a reader of this board, here is a link to our comparison of the AeroSUN 1600 with a 100W GE4509:

Tempting offer. What are the details of your upgrade policy? (Moving from one generation of your product to the next. Price breaks, etc...)

Gil,
Yes, the AeroSUNLite is essentially 1/2 the size, 1/2 the weight, 1/2 the power, and 1/2 the light output of the AeroSUN 1600.
We realized that the AeroSUN 1600 was too large for some wingtip installations (such as the RV cutout) and realized that a smaller light would be a good product offering as well.

Dean... are you able to use Aerosuns in a NAV light application? once you start mounting in the wing tips, i can foresee a dual application for both landing/taxi and nav lights somehow. that would be very cool.

Nav lights have very different angular visiblity requirements than landing/taxi lights. We do have a nav light design in the works... stay tuned.

Any ideas on combining with Nav/Strobe
Have any sketches or designs been made that fit these beautiful landing lights in the RV wingtips with a strobe and nav lights?

Dan, and others. While I can't agree or disagree with any of the arguments, I will say the Cirrus is beginning to use LEDs for their landing/taxi lights. We had one of the sales people bring a Cirrus to our flying club meeting in souther Minnesota a couple months back and they had LEDs for their lights. This may be one of those very rare cases where the general aviation industry precedes the auto industry in technology.

No, not yet, but if you look at some of the photos in the thread titled "Need help identifying wingtip light components" in this electrical systems section, you will see a photo that shows a halogen landing light. The AeroSUNLite can fit in the same spot as the oval halogen that is in this photo...

Taxi version?
Any chance of a "Dimmer" to cut down the light for taxi usage? Maybe cut out half or more of the LEDs? Is the wig-wag function selectable on/off?
Does the big unit fit in the standard "Duckworks" cut out?
I really like the look, the reliability and lifespan!
