Default G900X'

They're not mine (wish they were), but here's the 1st 2 RV-10 panel's with G900X's in them that we recently finished. Bad pics (the photographer - me - doesn't have a good camera, nor a tripod, nor any photography skills to speak of)!

Cheers,
stein

Cool! Are these the first RVs with G900/G1000?

Indeed they are! But...certainly won't be the last G900X's you'll seen in RV-10's....4 more in the shop going together right now, and about 4-5 more in the pipe after that. Here's another recent one that is among my favorites for cleanliness, symmetry and cost.

Cheers,
Stein

Default Update time

Well, I thought it was time to put up a couple shots of the panel in the plane.

First one is pretty much worth the old proverbial 1000 words.

This next one shows the side panel sections dropped down into the "service" position, really makes it easy to finish up all the hook up that just cant be done on the bench.

I really wanted a hinged panel that would just drop forward/down, but the design of the lower corners -----notched around the side longereons, coupled with instruments depth behind the panel, made it not possible without major re design of my already finished panel.

I made up a couple of tabs from angle stock, about an inch wide, that bolt to the lower bar, and provide a small flat spot for the panel face to sit on. A screw is dropped through the panel into the angle tab thingie, to keep it from moving around, and a piece of string holds the weight. Cheap, and simple. I ran all of the wiring on the panel down to the bottom, and then sideways, with a small service loop----actually half a loop----(see post 15 on this thread for a better shot of the rear) so I could move the panel out far enough to clear the top mounting angle, before laying it down.

Thanks for looking.

Default ITs ALIVE!!!!!!!!

As posted yesterday, different thread ---"Smoke testing", I finally got up the nerve to apply electrons to my panel.

Smoke----------------stayed in!!!

Many thanks to all who replied to my various questions during the building/wiring/installation of this.

Next, tidy up the wires a bit, and install the pieces with the "Finish" screws, nice shiny Stainless Allen head.
