...lotsa fog here in N.TX Saturday. Sunday looked promising but the forecast called for 97*F so I stayed home and worked the ToDo list.
No flying (sad face).

As mentioned elsewhere on VAF, I've been experiencing +/- 5 PSI oil pressure fluctuations during cruise flight recently. The oil pressure has been well within limits, but the fluctuations were new, so I've been looking into it... After we swapped fuel & oil pressure sensors a few days ago (no help), this morning, I removed the oil pressure relief valve, spring, and ball and inspected for anything abnormal. Nothing noted, so cleaned up the parts and reinstalled, and then took the plane for a test flight.

It was a bit cloudy this morning (2700' OVC when I left) so I decided to head east where the clouds were breaking up. Quickly, it became apparent that the oil pressure problem was solved. So, I kept heading east and sent a text message to my parents that I'd be landing the airport near them (KUDD) in 20 minutes.

I landed in Bermuda Dunes, and then met up with my parents. Gave my Dad a quick ride in the RV, and then after landing, I visited for a bit, and flew back home. Very stable oil pressure to & from, and the weather cleared up nicely. A nice day of RV flying!

It was a gorgeous day for flying in MN! I wandered aimlessly around the hundreds of lakes near here, and found this nice cluster of colors below. None of us can recall a year here with so many colors. The red maples are past peak, for the most part, but still there is magic in this:

We flew down to Columbia to see the Mizzou LSU game with my son - a Student at Mizzou. A pretty exciting and unexpected win. Hurricane Delta forced the game to be played in MO instead of LA. As typical, we waved at BillL as we flew over Peoria.

I disassembled N8PH for paint. 100 hours and no issues, now racing against the calendar to get it done before the weather turns too cold. Finishing the hangar paint booth today and tomorrow.

Reminder - grease the spars and spar bolts on assembly. It made the wing removal process go better than expected.
