Default Custom Fuel Tank Caps for RV-10

Hi All - I had new fuel tanks built and installed in my RV-10, and now I'm searching for nicer caps than the standard Vans ones: https://shop.vansaircraft.com/cgi-bi...duct=delux-cap . I'm trying to get the exact dimensions of this T-00007 part, but haven't heard back from Vans yet. I was wondering if anyone has already scoped out what the options are. For instance, Spruce has some nice ones, but I'm not sure which caps will fit my current Vans flange: https://www.aircraftspruce.com/categ...aps_flush.html . Any info is appreciated!

Right, I had found these Aerosport caps, but am I wrong in thinking that the center locking mechanism will still not be aluminum? See https://www.screencast.com/t/B7WO2jvalva8 . That is, it looks like that mechanism will be from the original plastic caps. Seems kind of odd/dumb to go from all plastic to mostly aluminum but still some plastic.

I guess the vendors think the internals are not worth fabricating in aluminum. The plastic internals seem to work just fine.

No worries!

I went with the kit standard caps in my -14 which are the plastic ?SPRL? ones. I?m hoping by the time I finish Newton has produced the aluminium version, but having the plastic ones in hand I will say that they are very very nice - just grey.

I just ordered my RV-8 wing kit and looked into this. . I'm going with the Newton Aero (sold by Spruce) with the curved flange to match the airfoil shape. You have to build the tank with their flanges. The other option are the "Retro fit" caps from Andair, also sold by Spruce. They can go into prebuilt tanks by prosealing in a sleeve adapter. May be other options, but that's what I found. I think Vans used to sell the Newton Aero as their "Deluxe" cap, but I don't believe they do that anymore.
